Small Group Classes are designed for fully vaccinated dogs and puppies (from around 16 weeks).
Inspire Me Dog Training are behavioural dog trainers and we run two types of classes: Obedience classes and Reactive Dog classes.
Pricing starts at $20 for Obedience classes and $40 for Reactive Dog classes, which is usually run as a 3 or 4 week course as this is when we achieve best results. Bookings can be made via the ‘Book A Service’ page here: Book A Service – Inspire Me Dog Training
If you have an aggressive / reactive dog, we suggest you book a Private Session or Reactive Dog Course first as we do not have the resources to provide you with one-on-one assistance during a class and this takes away allocated time from other participants.
Several types of dogs are unsuitable for the Obedience Classes are:
- Barking dogs are too disruptive in class and require an initial private consultation (private session) or a specialised “Reactive Dog Course”.
- Dog-human aggressive dogs are too disruptive and potentially dangerous in class and require an individual behaviour consultation.
- Dog-dog aggressive dogs are too disruptive and potential dangerous in class and require an individual behaviour consultation.
INFORMATION FOR ALL CLASSES:
Please arrive 10 minutes before class start time and current vaccination records are required for your dog’s very first class. The classes run for 45-50 minutes to enable a quick swap over between classes and less people congregating at venues.
Please wear appropriate footwear e.g. closed shoes as thongs and sandals are not appropriate footwear for dog training.
Please bring a collar and sturdy lead for your dog (bungee and retractable style leads are not suitable for training). We don’t mind if you bring your dog in a harness, however collars are a must! Head collars (e.g. Halti’s), check chains and slip leads / slip collars are fine, however bring a normal collar as well as you will require a collar for some exercises such as recall training.
Please bring rewards such as high value treats or toys to motivate your dog to work for you. Treat pouches / bum bags are highly recommended for you to store and carry these items plus your belongings. Please DO NOT FEED YOUR DOG BEFORE CLASS!
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
All dogs and puppies are to be in control by their handler and only 1 handler is allowed to train the dog at one time (you may swap handlers from time to time if you want).
Inspire Me Dog Training uses and promotes the use of positive reinforcement, rewards-based training. We won’t tolerate any abusive / aggressive behaviour targeted at your dog and you will be spoken to privately or requested to leave the class.
Classes still run during less than desirable conditions, however, classes may be cancelled if the temperature exceeds 30 degrees and in severe weather conditions e.g. storms and heavy rain / hail. Updates will be posted on Social Media e.g. Facebook / Instagram and via SMS if classes are cancelled.
THERE ARE NO CLASSES LONG WEEKENDS OR DURING WINTER (unless otherwise advised on social media / SMS) due to low attendance of our participants and it gives our staff a break.
We do not offer refunds for missed classes as you are paying for a place, which we are unable to fill once the classes have commenced. All our classes have staggered start dates / times and run at capacity; which don’t allow for make-up classes. Please ensure you or a family member / friend can attend each class.
We are unable to tailor our classes to suit individual needs. We try to vary the range of commands for each class so that participants have a wide variety of skills to work on. Majority of participants that succeed and progress quickly are ones that practice the learned skills daily.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel less than 24 hours prior to your booking, then a cancellation fee of 50% for that session will apply.
